DESCRIPTION: The Athens Area Paine College Alumni Club presents &ldquo;Joe Turner's Come and Gone" directed by N.L. Starr and written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning African American playwright August Wilson. Joe Turner&rsquo;s Come and Gone is the second play in August Wilson&rsquo;s The Century Cycle. This series captures the struggles and lives of African Americans throughout the 20th century. Set in the 1910s, Joe Turner&rsquo;s Come and Gone follows the lives of several freed former enslaved African Americans in the North, exploring their experiences with racism and discrimination.Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m.&amp;Sunday, December 8th at 2:30 p.m.Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets can be purchased on weekdays between 12-4 p.m. by calling (706) 613-3771 or in person at the Morton Theatre Box Office (195 West Washington Street).
